Training Manager

Bouygues Travaux Publics have an exciting opportunity for a Training Manager work for us at the Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Station.
Bouygues Travaux Publics (TP) and Laing O'Rourke, two of Europe's most dynamic engineering and construction specialists, are working together in a joint venture named BYLOR to deliver the main civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C (HPC) worth over £2.8 billion.
BYLOR are pushing the boundaries of innovation and modern technology while delivering high quality construction on a massive scale. BYLOR have already broken the UK record for the largest continuous concrete pour of 9,000m3 of concrete.Ideally we are looking for someone who has experience of multi-disciplined, civil engineering projects and who has experience of identifying, delivering and assuring training requirements for large projects. The project is an exciting and challenging environment and you will need strong interpersonal skills, project management and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
This will be a varied role but key deliverables will include:
- Delivery and setting up of “Train the Trainer” programmes.
- Ensuring that nuclear safety is embedded in all activities across training and development.
- Set up the systems and processes which enable on-going reporting back to BYLOR and NNB on all training and competence / assurance requirements.
- Work with the Apprentice Manager on the Apprentice Programme and how BYLOR training can support / compliment the activities.
- Management of training budgets.
- Building a sustainable training delivery model for BYLOR to include e-learning; face to face training; knowledge sharing; behavioural and interactive sessions etc.
- Identify, design and develop areas where there are qualification / competency gaps.
- Ensure training opportunities are communicated effectively and that line managers are fully conversant with identifying, requesting and monitoring training.
- Work closely with the team on staff and Workforce development requirements.
- Build a strong relationship with parent company training and development teams so ensure that we leverage parent company experience, knowledge and products.
