Our award-winning L&D team has a fantastic opportunity for a Training & Compliance Manager. The main purpose of the role is to oversee the training, compliance and accreditation of our employees and business in Highways & Local Government.

Bouygues E&S Highways & Local Government business provides a comprehensive range of infrastructure solutions within the urban and inter-urban environment. We work across street lighting, smart city and smart motorway transport solutions. This includes highway lighting, CCTV, EV charge points, Wi-Fi systems, energy connections and more.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will involve:

  • Being the lead on Highway Electrical Registration Scheme (HERS), National Electrical Registration Scheme (NERS), National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC), Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS), NVQs and other operational training
  • Provide guidance and advice to departments to ensure their HERS portfolios are up to date and a true reflection of tasks being carried out. HERS portfolio compliance in liaison with supervisors and managers
  • Take the role of Authorising Officer in all HERS portfolios, involving regular reviews of portfolios
  • Responsible as duty holder for company NICEIC registrations. Arranging new registrations when required and arranging and attending annual audits by the NICEIC.
  • Working with the BYES Assurance and compliance team to ensure that all H&LG contracts are compliant with BYES electrical safety rules and procedures
  • Create annual budget for H&LG operational training and use best value and cost-effective external training
  • Identifying training gaps in the business through liaison with managers & department heads
  • Identifying and sourcing funded training & qualifications with network of national providers
  • Conducting audits on all above areas

The candidate will have the following skills, experience, and qualification:

Essential:

  • Experience in a training and/or operational supervisor/manager role in a highway electrical & civils or similar environment
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work with good problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment and on own initiative, make recommendation for improvements
  • Confident and self-directed with technology and can pick up new systems quickly

Desirable:

  • Understanding of compliance with the Highway Electrical Registration Scheme (HERS)
