We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Services Manager to join our Facilities Management team at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge city centre.  This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours p/week, from 8am-5pm, Mon-Fri.

 

The role:

 

  • Reporting to the General Manager
  • To provide technical and compliance support to the Maintenance team and the contract
  • Responsible for the operational management of the building and engineering services for BYES and for the management of the PFI estate, including staff management
  • Assist with overall responsibility for ensuring that engineering maintenance, including contract work, is carried out to appropriate standards and specifications
  • Provide expert specialist and professional building and engineering expertise to other estates department, directors and senior management of the organisation, including client management
  • Undertakes Authorised Person responsibilities in relation to specified systems
  • Day to day management of the estate teams and operations. Management, operation and implementation of the Permit to Work system and Safe Systems at work
  • Ensure services comply in accordance with legislative, statutory and HTM requirements, including decontamination.
  • Ensure the safe operation of all plant and equipment of the hospital site.
  • Cost effective delivery of a Planned Preventative Maintenance Service and reactive works
  • Ensure plant is maintained and operated to its optimum efficiency
  • Working 40 hours per week from 0800 to 1700, Monday to Friday with participation in call out rota

 

The person:

 

  • Technical qualifications in an engineering/building services discipline (Degree, Chartered Engineer) and comparable experience, ideally in a healthcare environment
  • Proven track record in building services and plant engineering; experience in maintenance technical issues and decontamination essential
  • Experience in water hygiene and ventilation regulations to HTM standard; awareness of CDM regulations
  • Strongly Client focused, able to take ownership of projects.
  • Proven experience of managing a maintenance team and achieving SLA’s
  • Full understanding of LV/HV systems.
