Street Lighting Operative
Bouygues Energies & Services Solutions - Welwyn Garden City
Bouygues Energies & Services highways and local government business unit has a new opportunity for a Maintenance & Installation Operative to support on-going LED street lighting installation and maintenance projects across parts of Hertfordshire and the South East.
The role:
- Working in connection with the installation and decommissioning of lighting equipment including signs, bollards and streetlights
- Operating a lorry mounted crane
- Excavation work for joint holes, columns and sign installations
- The safe use and operation of tools, equipment and vehicles (including HGV) associated with the role
- Providing support to skilled and specialist operatives
- Carrying out driving, delivery and general yard duties in support of the Highways Lighting business
- Working in a safe manner and in accordance with Company Health, Safety, Environment and Quality policies and procedures
- Complying with operational working practices and associated risk assessments
- Taking full ownership for personal Health & Safety responsibilities
- Ensuring PPE is worn at all times
The person:
- Must have experience with installation of cables using towable cable drum and powered winches on large motorway schemes
- Desirable to have a current ECS card or CSCS
- Good work attitude with the ability to work away from home during week (with some night working) and be a team player
- Experience of MCX spec relating to cable installation would be an advantage
- Desirable to have Winch operator and Lorry loader qualifications
- A current, clean driving licence to 3.5T essential; desirable to have a HGV Class 2 license or license up to 7.5t and ability to tow trailer
