Site Manager - Logistics
Bouygues UK - Swansea
Bouygues UK are currently recruiting for a Logistics Manager to work on a new and exciting project in Swansea.
The project is a 5-storey £32M office development which will include 114,000 square feet of commercial floor space. Two underground levels will also be included. Public access is planned, as well as a new link between The Kingsway and Oxford Street.
The project is set for completion in early 2023, and from there the successful applicant will have the opportunity to move onto other projects within the region too.
Job Purpose and Scope:
To be responsible for all logistical operations, multi-labour, waste management and site security for the efficient and well organised day to day operation of the project in respect of health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
Accountabilities and Key Tasks:
- Responsible for all logistical operations in relation to deliveries, access and egress, compliance and coordination with the DMS and site security requirements, plus all logistical operations in relation to waste management, ensuring compliance with the Environmental plan, Site Waste Management plan and NNB environmental standards.
- Operation and implementation of a good housekeeping policy in respect of clean up notices and fines in coordination with the commercial team.
- Carry out field surveillance and verification of the working areas in relation to good housekeeping, security, environmental standards and health & safety.
- Responsible for all logistical operations in relation to fuel delivery and the safe use of FLAPS on site.
- Work as part of the project team to ensure that works are not started before Risk Assessments, Task Safety Plans and Method Statements are issued and agreed and communicated by the subcontractor.
- Actively monitor this implementation and ensure that the works are carried out as agreed.
- Work with the project team to ensure that all activities critical to the success of the site are executed, managed and delivered to the agreed programme and standards required to achieve the aims of the project team.
Essential Criteria:
- Ability to understand and retain knowledge
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and produce accurate work
- Experience working for a construction main contractor
- Experience working on big construction projects, ideally high-rise projects at £20M+
- An understanding of lifting operations
- Must be methodical and process driven
- HSE training
- IT Literate, Document control and use of collaborative shared platforms
