VSL UK are looking to appoint a Site Engineer for our JV with Freysinnet on Hinkley Point C.

A Site engineer is responsible for ensuring that the activity scope relevant to the RAMS/ITP and related works under
his/her responsibility and control is effectively documented, planned, understood by work group.
The site engineer must plan and co-ordinate site activities with the Black Hat Supervisor, ensuring that the Production
Manager is aware of Labour requirements, equipment needs and planning considerations as appropriate for the
works.


Accountabilities and key tasks:

 

  • Supervise and control mock-up works with the assistance of a black hat supervisor in accordance with approved RAMS and ITP

  • Coordinate the works with the assistance of black hat supervisor
  • With the assistance of PT technician, the site engineer will inspect/supervise the installation of the Post Tensioning pipes carried out by our client in accordance with FVH approved procedure.
  • Prepare and issue inspection check sheets to FVH Quality Manager as per approved FVH Surveillance plan.
  • Assist black hat supervisor by maintaining a delivery tracker.
  • Monitor vertical tower mast on a weekly basis using survey equipment and report to FVH Temporary Works Coordinator
  • Create and execute project programme, work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.
  • Organize resources such as materials, plant and personnel and clearly communicate objectives
  • Communicate all technical up to date information to teams and update at any time if needed, plan and set out works for project teams.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of Work package and scope.
  • Participate in client briefs, meetings and schedule planning based on discussion, inform project management teams of new developments.
  • Effectively apply our methodology and enforce project standards.
  • Compilation of Site Records i.e. Daily Diaries, Photographs, Plant and Labour Returns, As-Built Drawings, Measurement Sheets etc
  • To provide accurate records of Works completed so to assist the Quantity Surveying Department in the production of Monthly Valuations.

 

Essential and Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience in Civil Engineer projects
  • SMSTS
  • Knowledge of UK Nuclear regulations


Desirable
MCIOB or similar chartership
