Service Manager - Cleaning

The role:
- To be responsible for the day to day of operational staff, team leaders and cleaning supervisors across the contract and the performance of the cleaning services of the contract
- To assist in the management of all associated subcontractors in accordance with company procedures and ensure that activities comply with client protocols
- To be responsible for managing and motivating the staff to maximise departmental stability, and ensure that a high standard of customer care is always maintained
- To assist the operations manager with recruitment and training (BICs Standard) of all staff and be responsible for induction & training records
- To manage the payroll exceptions i.e. overtime, time and attendance
- To carry out monthly meetings, toolbox talks and mandatory training with the cleaning team
- Working 40 hours per week from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with a requirement to be part of the management call out rota.
The person:
- Experience of managing a diverse medium to large group of cleaning operatives across multi sites
- Able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of employees, both verbally and in writing
- A good understanding of English, both written and verbal
- Essential to have basic IT skills and be familiar with computer aided facilities management systems (experience with Maximo is desirable)
- BICS training certification or an equivalent NVQ certificate is desirable
- Ability to use own initiative and work under pressure, whilst maintaining good attention to detail
- Flexible and conscientious approach to the work and tasks undertaken
