Senior Procurement & Supply Chain Officer

Here at Bouygues UK we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Procurement & Supply Chain Officer to join your team in London. The main purpose of the role is to identify the business demand and supply chain capacity for the strategic trade of Structures, including groundworks, piling and concrete / steel / timber framing subcontracts and material procurement.
The main responsibilities of the role will include:
- Developing the procurement strategy for the strategic trade and the regional and national supply chain to suit the demand
- Providing market competitive procurement solutions for the trade which demonstrate best overall value for money
- Supply chain management of the strategic trade, including structuring the supply chain, carrying out performance and relationship management (along with Account Managers) to drive improved performance/cost benefits
- Providing an effective and professional service in the procurement of sub-contractors and materials for the strategic trade
- Pre-construction procurement advice / strategy for the Bid Leader
- Construction stage category procurement for Project Lead
- Generate and encourage an efficient, productive and continuously improving supply chain performance within the trades
- Support the group procurement functional goals and objectives within the region as well as collaborate with other region's procurement function to ensure a consistent approach
- Promoting and demonstrating the added value of procurement and supply chain management for the strategic trade
- Production of reports
- Compliance with and enforcement of company processes and procedures for procurement including supporting and championing the implementation of Framework Agreements across all projects
- Liaison with the wider procurement / purchasing organisation within Bouygues Group
Essential:
- Previous work experience in construction within a procurement or commercial role, ideally working for a main contractor
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, project teams and supply chain
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of work practices, processes and procedures relevant to the strategic trade within the construction process from pre-construction stage and into construction stage
- Good existing business network and relationships with the supply chain
- Integrity and professionalism in order to promote and enhance the image and reputation of the function and the company
- Good knowledge of sustainability within procurement practices
