Senior HR Advisor
VSL - Amersham
The Senior Project HR Advisor will be based on a permanent basis at our HS2 project in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. VSL UK are in joint venture with Keller UK to form ‘KVJV’. The Senior Project HR Advisor will provide effective and efficient operational human resources to all staff on the KVJV project.
The Senior Project HR Advisor will be supported by KELLER and VSL HR departments on all matters related to KVJV employees.
Main responsibilities
Main responsibilities are, but not limited to:
The HR Manager will:
- Provide an effective and efficient HR advice and support service to managers and employees on KVJV
- Provide advice and information to managers to enable them to meet their responsibilities in areas including:
- Disciplinary and grievance
- Employment law
- Work closely with HR Managers from parent companies and ensure compliance with the HR policies and procedures of both parent companies by operational managers
- Review and identify common processes/policies between parent companies to implement ‘KVJV’ processes/policies
- Ensure diversity and inclusion targets are met and liaise regularly client EDI Manager
- To encourage and support our employee’s involvement within the community
- To act at all times in accordance with the parent companies values as an ambassador and advisor to KVJV and ensure that working relationships with internal and external customers is such that it upholds and enhances the good image of KVJV
- Ensure the Company Health and Safety safe working practices are observed at all times
- Monitoring training needs for KVJV staff, ensuring all relevant qualifications/cards/tickets are up to date
- Support with onboarding of staff, carry out right to work checks, completion of paperwork for KVJV staff
In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed above, the job holder may be required to perform other duties assigned by their line manager from time to time, outside the normal sphere of work as may be reasonably requested.
Competence & skills
Essential:
- Experience in a generalist or specialised HR role.
- Good working knowledge of UK employment law.
- Excellent track record in employee relations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to adapt in a changing environment
Desirable:
- Member of CIPD.
- Previous experience with construction / rail /engineering / property company
