Senior Estimator

We are looking for a Senior Estimator to support the Technical Department, working collaboratively with the Preconstruction team and the main support for the estimating resource, taking responsibility on tenders from concept through to start onsite.

Duties:

- Carry out a design review and a high level estimate of a Building Envelope design on a project at early stage of design (RIBA stage 2)
- Undertake a detailed study (design, programme, cost) on a project developed until RIBA stage 3 or 4
- Offer some design options on a building envelope design taking into account the performance and target budget. Find value engineering options to get the project back on cost
- Undertake a quantity take off or manage a quantity take off done by a quantity surveyor
- Carry out project design reviews using BIM applications such as Revizto, Navisworks, Revit
- Develop a construction sequence and a programme for design and construction activities related to the building envelope
- Identify and track the project risks and opportunities matrix
- Collaborate with the procurement team in order to identify the appropriate supply chain 
- Write a technical note that allows the design manager to challenge the design consultants and the bid manager to build the commercial offer
- Assist the bid manager in carrying out the negotiation with the client until the financial close
- After the contract award prepare the technical transfer for the production team
- Organise production feed-back in order to collect information of design, programme and price
- Maintain a good level of knowledge on the building regulations, facades and roofing guidance and their evolution
- Maintain a good level of knowledge on the products and manufacturing solutions for facades and roofing



The successful candidate will have solid estimating experience and:
- Be proficient in all computer software programs used in estimating, BIM and design.
- Previous relevant experience
- Have strong oral and written communication skills
- Possess a strong work ethic.
- Be able to meet deadlines.
- Have strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
- Ability to measure and produce bills of quantities from first principles
