Quality Engineer

Bouygues Energies & Services has an exciting opportunity available for a Quality Engineer to be based from our Bristol office in Bradley Stoke.
We have been awarded a Turn-key EPC contract for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) new-build nuclear power plant Emergency Diesel Generators. This is a great opportunity for a Quality Engineer looking to work on an incredibly interesting project in a busy working environment.
Job Purpose:
To monitor the Quality Management System of the project and ensure its implementation.
The Role:
- Act as focal point for control of 3rd party inspections.
- Assist in capturing the changes to Quality requirements in contract requirements mapping/capture process.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the Project Quality Plan (PQP)
- Assist in managing the Quality Management System (QMS) of the project according to the project policy, contract requirements and the company QMS.
- Ensure the communication, training and implementation of the QMS within the project team.
- Monitor and measure the efficiency of the QMS and ensure improvement of the QMS throughout the project life.
- Assist in organising and following up of management reviews.
- Assist in preparing audit planning, performing audits (including supplier assessment audits), follow up sentencing of findings and progress of action plans.
- Co-ordinate preparations for external audits of the HPC project (Company internal audits, customer audits, accreditation body audits) and follow up sentencing of findings and progress of action plans.
- Assist in managing the NCR/CRF process.
- Review the subcontractors deliverables concerned by quality aspects (FUD, QRA, …).
- Review the Equipment specifications according to the Quality requirements.
- Participate in the tender assessment process.
- Participate in the supplier manufacturing Kick Off Meetings.
- Manage the interface with quality client representatives.
- Contribute to definition and implementation of the customer satisfaction process.
The person will ideally have:
- ISO9001 Lead Auditor.
- QMS experience in heavy regulated industry (e.g. Nuclear / Oil and Gas).
- Mechanical / Manufacturing or electrical background.
- Experience of Supplier Control.
- Experience in Quality Tools (6 Sigma / 8D / Root Cause).
- Experience of varied communication / interaction (Customer / Supplier / Senior Management).
