Project Engineer / Site Engineer

Bouygues Energies & Services has a fantastic opportunity available for a Project Engineer / Site Engineer to work between our Bristol office and the Hinkley Point C site.
We have been awarded a Turn-key EPC contract for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) new-build nuclear power plant Emergency Diesel Generators. This is a great opportunity for someone to work on this incredibly unique and exciting project.
Job Purpose:
Coordination of allocated work packages for design, manufacturing and installation activities.
The Role:
- Provide technical support for site installation activities. Review the deliverables issued by the installer.
- Co-ordinate with the installer, BYES team, subcontractors as well as the client to resolve site related NCRs and FCRs as and when required.
- Co-ordinate validation of installation carried out by various installers.
- Co-ordinate with the installer to compile data required for End of Erection Status reports.
- Co-ordinate with Layout team to compile As-built information and update PDMS models as required.
- Coordinate and manage the equipment interfaces with the subcontractors and the Client.
- Technical supervision / management of the equipment suppliers (planning, reporting, RFI-TQ follow up, contract, MOM,…)
- Review the deliverables issued by the equipment suppliers and ensure that these meet the technical and quality requirements of the Client.
- Participate in the definition of the Subcontractor Schedule and tracking of activities.
- Participate/contribute to the detailed design of the equipment and their procurement process (technical selection, clarification).
- Support the Work Package Lead in supplier selection and subcontract management.
- Support the Work Package Lead in manufacturing surveillance, management of inspections, compilation of manufacturing records, management of NCRs and in manufacturer document acceptance process.
- Monitor, review and prepare proposed responses to Client General Communications and claims in your area of responsibility, in coordination with the Work Package lead.
- Prepare technical responses to variation requests from the Customer, including costing in coordination with the Work Package lead.
- Liaise with the erection, testing & commissioning team in order to prepare method statements and risk assessments.
- Site visits or placements to support the installation activities and care and maintenance activities. Other site duties to prepare for, co-ordinate or manage these activities.
- To fulfil specified and implied occupational Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans.
The person will ideally have:
- Degree in an engineering discipline.
- Understanding of interface and change management.
- Understanding of control and validation procedures.
- Ability to understand a complex system.
