Bouygues Energies & Services are seeking to appoint a Project Buyer, to join the Procurement team based in Manchester.

Working as part of a small team, the Project Buyer will provide an effective, comprehensive and expert buying services to support the business.

The Project Buyer will help develop and implement innovative approaches to supply arrangements that minimise costs, deliver savings and mitigate commercial risks.  The role will develop the supply chain to suit the demands of projects in the data centre and pharmaceutical arena’s and will be based in our offices in Didsbury, Manchester with travel to regional offices/sites as required.

The Role

  • Manage the procurement of packages for allocated projects in line with agreed procurement strategy, ensuring best value solutions for the business.
  • Utilising your experience in M&E building services and be the category specialist across projects.
  • Provide competitive procurement solutions for trades which demonstrate best overall value for money.
  • Provide an effective and professional service in the procurement of sub-contractors and material for strategic trades including construction stage project management.
  • Supply chain management, including structuring the supply chain, carrying out performance and relationship management to drive improved performance/cost benefits.
  • Monitor supply chain performance, compliance, workload, and financial status to ensure the company is protected.
  • Be involved in all stages of the projects from, tender, preconstruction, contract negotiations and construction.
  • Support the implementation of Carbon Reduction with the supply chain.
  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities.
  • Support the group procurement goals and objectives.

The Person

Essential Criteria 

  • Good understanding of strategic procurement/buying practices.
  • Proven experience as a Project Buyer.
  • Procurement experience on both high volume, high value and on fast-track multiple project works. Experience covering equipment sub-contract and service.
  • Good knowledge of sustainability and safety within procurement practices.
  • A strong team player who is customer focused with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Knowledge and skills to effectively solve problems.
  • Attention to detail with good time management and negotiating skills.
  • Attention of Health and Safety matters.
  • Experience working the M&E building services industry.
  • Full driving licence
