At the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), we're committed to revolutionizing energy through ambitious and innovative projects. Our latest endeavour, Sizewell C, is a monumental 3.2-gigawatt power station designed to generate low-carbon electricity for approximately 6 million homes for at least 60 years. We are searching for a highly motivated and experienced Preconstruction Senior Planner to join our PMO team and play a pivotal role in this transformative project, this role will initially be based from our London office and will then move to site.

About the Role: As a Preconstruction Senior Planner, you will be the focal point for planning, coordinating, and reporting on all Target Cost Outturns (TOCs) in terms of time and progress across the CWA. This role is essential for ensuring our TOCs are planned and coordinated with broader CWA works, and you will work closely with CWA functions and operational leadership to achieve desired project outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the planning and scheduling for the progressive TOCs for the CWA.
• Developing and maintaining a working programme for each TOC period.
• Coordinating TOC programmes into the overall CWA Master Programme.
• Producing and presenting various TOC monitoring reports, including progress, variance, and forecast reports.
• Ensuring TOC planning is fully compliant with SZC contractual requirements and obligations.
• Working closely with delivery planners to support the development and review of TOC scope of works.
• Attending TOC meetings to coordinate progress and raise early warnings to proactively mitigate delays.
• Engaging stakeholders at all levels of the CWA to ensure alignment and effective communication.

What We’re Looking For: We seek candidates with the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

Essential:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in preconstruction and project planning, particularly within complex construction projects.
• Proven understanding of project management methodologies, including Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Proficiency in project management software, such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and Power BI.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of tailoring reports to varied audiences.
• Experience in project and/or contract delivery, with a significant record of successful project management.
• Dynamic self-starter with a customer-focused approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

• Membership in professional organizations such as CIOB or MICE.
• Understanding of UK construction regulations and reporting requirements.
• Experience with 4D/Synchro Modelling.
