Join CWA in Pioneering the Future! Become a Preconstruction Manager – Marine and Tunnels

I’m excited to share an incredible opportunity within the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) for a Preconstruction Manager – Marine and Tunnels. As we advance towards the construction of Sizewell C, your expertise will be pivotal in managing preconstruction activities for the Marine and Tunnels scope, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Sizewell C will be a landmark project, generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and securing our energy future for the next 60 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the preconstruction work scope and develop effective strategies and plans.
  • Manage the Target Outturn Cost (TOC) process in coordination with the M&T team, L3 Designer, and Client.
  • Develop and manage preconstruction deliverables to meet business and technical requirements.
  • Monitor and track the progress of the programme, providing key stakeholders with regular updates.
  • Anticipate and resolve pre-delivery issues, manage risks and opportunities, and ensure lessons learned are integrated.
  • Coordinate with other programme teams to maintain a high-level view of project progression and adopt best practices.
  • Prepare readiness and handover materials for the Project Leads and delivery teams.

What We're Looking For:

  • A proven track record of delivering projects throughout their lifecycle in a technically complex and regulated environment, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector.
  • Strong management skills, including project management, commercial/estimating management, and facilitation.
  • Experience in engineering design, contract and field execution strategies, procurement and management of contracts, and cost control.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience managing sub-contractors and consultants in large and complex construction projects, preferably during the preconstruction phase.
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts and meeting tight deadlines.

Why Join Us?

At CWA, we value humility, positivity, respect, solidarity, and clarity. We believe in fostering a collaborative and innovative environment where every team member plays a crucial role in our success. By joining us, you will be part of a groundbreaking project that will have a lasting positive impact on our community and environment.
