As part of the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), we are proud to support the groundbreaking Sizewell C project, a 3.2-gigawatt power station that will provide low-carbon electricity to approximately 6 million homes. Sizewell C represents a vital step forward in our quest for a sustainable energy future, ensuring clean, reliable electricity for at least 60 years.
I am excited to announce that we are looking for a Preconstruction Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to the successful management of preconstruction activities within the Enabling Works and Earthworks (ENW & EWK) scope, which are crucial components of the Sizewell C Civil Works Programme.
Job Purpose
In this role, you will develop and execute strategies for delivering the ENW & EWK scope safely, within cost, schedule, and quality constraints. You will coordinate with team members and suppliers, ensuring that preconstruction activities and site readiness deliverables are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and manage the preconstruction work scope, ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Develop and execute strategies in line with the overall Programme Execution Plan (PEP).
- Monitor and manage programme progress, tracking milestones, deadlines, and budget, and providing key stakeholders with regular reports.
- Identify and resolve issues within the contract or package, and escalate any risks.
- Apply Continuous Improvement principles and ensure lessons-learnt and knowledge-capture are standard practices.
- Prepare and review content for contractual requirements and support estimating, TOC, schedule, and governance reviews.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven track record in delivering projects within a technically complex environment, preferably within the Nuclear Energy sector or a similar regulated industry.
- Expertise in engineering design, contract management, cost control, risk management, schedule management, and change management.
- Strong project management and commercial management skills.
- Experience with NEC contracts and managing sub-contractors, consultants, and advisors in large and complex construction projects.
- Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and facilitation skills.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
