PDMS CAD Designer

Bouygues Energies & Services HPC team has an exciting opportunity available for a PDMS CAD Designer to be based from our Bristol office in Bradley Stoke.
You would be working with the Technical team, who are contributing to the work that we are carrying out on the Emergency Diesel Generators at the incredible Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Station project. This is a great opportunity to work on the biggest construction project in the UK!
We are looking for an experienced PDMS CAD Designer with a desire to work within the nuclear industry.
Main Job Purpose:
The management of the project 3D model.
The Role:
- PDMS and E3D Design module: Creation and modification of Piping, supports + MDS, steelwork, equipment, components, electrical cable trays according to the input data and drawings provided by the layout lead.
- PDMS and E3D DRAW/DRAFT: Creation and modification General assemblies, equipment drawings, isometrics, specifications, catalogues and UDAs.
- PDMS custom reports and collection as required from the project (e.g., preparing BOQ for piping/supports manufacturing and construction packages).
- Working in autonomy with Autodesk AutoCAD and Navisworks.
- Carrying out layout engineering (positioning of equipment, pipe routings, supporting, etc.), ensuring that the Layout rules for the project are correctly followed.
- Performing 2D/3D consistency checks (3D-Model check against P&IDs, Single line diagrams etc.
- Ensuring the deliverables issued by us and our sub-contractors meet the technical and quality requirements of the Customer.
- Surveillance of the auxiliaries’ mechanical Sub-contractors/Suppliers’ activities related to the layout/PDMS model.
- Experience in interfaces management between piping and equipment.
- PDMS/PML (Programmable Macro Language) background will be an advantage.
- To work with the Human Factors lead to ensure design changes that reduce HF/CDM risks are integrated within the model.
- Support the layout lead in preparing and during the layout reviews (internal and external).
- Follow up of the deliverables related to the 3D model and the project schedule in order to achieve delivery on time for manufacturing/construction.
- To fulfil specified and implied occupational Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans and CDM.
- To comply with the Company’s Policies, Management Plans and Procedures.
The person will ideally have:
- Experience in the use of PDMS/E3D software (essential).
- Layout engineering experience.
- Degree in an engineering discipline.
- PDMS/PML (Programmable Marco Language) background.
- An understanding of PDMS administrations.
- Experience working in the nuclear and/or oil & gas industry.
- Experience using AutoCAD & Navisworks (Navisworks training can be provided on the job).
