MEP Manager

Bouygues Energies & Services are seeking to appoint MEP Manager to support their growing Data Centre business.
We are committed to providing cutting edge solutions for our clients Data Centre facilities and are recruiting a MEP Manager to join our innovative team initially based in Newport, Wales. The MEP Manager will be responsible for managing teams and the Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing aspects of large projects from inception to completion, within set timescales, to high quality standards and within health and safety guidelines.
The Role
- Be responsible for ensuring the project complies with Health and Safety regulations and CDM requirements and produce the necessary documents to demonstrate compliance.
- Adhere to the companies ISO standards and health and safety procedures and policies.
- Have responsibility for ensuring that method statements and risk assessments are followed up by the project team and update any documents as required.
- Participate in site progress meetings and project review meetings to keep informed on project progress and address any issues and concerns.
- Have responsibility for submitting project variations and interim applications for payment and prepare monthly forecast and Cost to Complete reports.
- Support the Commercial Manager to negotiate the final account agreements with stakeholders involved in the project.
- Have responsibility for maintaining up to date project files ensuring they complete with the company’s quality management procedures.
- Collaborate with the estimating and sales team to address technical and commercial aspects of the project.
- Attend project handover meetings to update on progress.
- Have responsibility for developing and maintaining a detailed and accurate project program, outlining work breakdown, timelines and dependencies.
- Oversee the procurement process, ensuring that necessary materials, equipment and services are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Working with the design team, coordinate the design activities for the project.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of subcontractors, both contractually and commercially.
- Prepare O&M Manuals and other necessary documents to ensure project handover and ongoing maintenance.
The Person
Essential Criteria
- Experience working with a main contractor or large subcontractor.
- Proven people management experience of managing teams.
- Have the ability to mentor and develop team members.
- Proven technical knowledge of Electrical and/or Mechanical Services.
- Knowledge and skills to effectively problem solve.
- Be self-motivated, with proven organisational ability and the drive to meet deadlines.
• Customer focused with the ability to communicate effectively with clients. - Attention to Health and Safety matters.
- Commercially astute.
- Degree of equivalent in an Electrical/Mechanical/Building Services Engineering discipline.
Desirable Criteria
• Experience in data centre project management.
