Bouygues Energies & Services currently has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical or Electrical Apprentice to join our Facilities Management team at the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People based in Little France, Edinburgh.  This is an apprenticeship position working an average of 40-42 hours per week, 4 on 4 off, 12 hour shifts between 7am and 9pm.

 

The role:

  • Support the site facilities team in the delivery of Hard Facilities Management services
  • Carry out planned and responsive repairs to M&E systems, action tasks within the required timescales and escalate issues to more senior engineers, where appropriate
  • Respond promptly and politely to service requests, including those received directly from the client
  • Effectively communicate and build relationships with the Bouygues team, building users and client representatives
  • Ongoing awareness of Health and Safety and follow procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Comply with the Company’s Policies, Management Plans and Procedures
  • To manage own college workload and take ownership for timely completion of assignments
  • Working an average of 40-42 hours per week, 4 on 4 off, 12 hour shifts between 7am and 9pm

 

The person:

  • 5 x GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A-C/9-4, including English, Maths, Physics and Crafts (or similar)
  • Experience in construction or building services maintenance is essential
  • Understanding of building services installation and maintenance techniques at a basic level essential
  • Willingness to work in a trainee role to attain a range of technical skills
  • IT Literate
  • Experience working in a team (either from work, education or hobbies)
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Previous customer service experience would be an advantage, but not essential.
