Bouygues Energies & Services currently has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Shift Technician to join our Facilities Management team at North Middlesex Hospital in Edmonton on a permanent basis working 12 hour day shifts from 07:00 to 19:00, 4 days on 4 days off, an average of 40 hours per week.

 

The role:

  • Reporting to the Maintenance Manager
  • To apply trade skills and experience to any allocated jobs as directed by
  • To work alone with minimum supervision or within a team to carry out maintenance / repair or mechanical services as well as refurbishments and new works to plant and equipment
  • To integrate and communicate effectively with other trade staff such as engineers, particularly for mechanical maintenance, new and remedial works
  • To carry out mechanical repairs and cleaning of mechanical components and equipment
  • To respond promptly and efficiently to plant breakdowns
  • Working from 07:00 to 19:00, 4 days on 4 days off, 40 hours per week with a requirement to participate in the out of hours on call rota and be able to respond/attend site within one hour 

 

The person:

  • Must hold a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant Mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • IT literate, with ambition for personal development
  • Willingness to attain cross skilling and to undertake training and qualify as an Authorised Person as required
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Demonstrate good planning, organising and prioritising skills
  • Ability to show examples of using initiative and judgement to resolve problems
  • Experience in a Healthcare environment is advantageous
  • Must have a good understanding of health & safety best practice; formal training an advantage
