The role
We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Advisor to partner with the Senior HR Manager in providing an operational HR service to operational facilities management contracts in the North West Region (Greater Manchester and Merseyside). The role will be based in Manchester, Eccles, with regular travel to other sites within the region.
What you can expect from the role:
No two days are the same, with support and development, you will undertake the following:
- Employee relations: you will lead and support the SHRM and line managers on case management including, disciplinary, grievance, performance management, attendance improvement plans, investigations, all underpinned by providing advice, guidance, drafting letters, through a coaching and consultative approach
- Recruitment: work in conjunction with the resourcing team and line managers, on recruitment, such as interviewing, shortlisting candidates, and induction of staff, in accordance with the Company procedures
- Performance Management: provide advice and guidance on the performance management of employees, by supporting/coaching line managers with probationary periods ensuring regular one to one meetings take place, undertaking performance reviews, having career conversations, and supporting on development plans for their people
- HR shared Services: work in conjunction with our HR Shared services teams, to support on queries relating to payroll and benefits
- Reporting: support and produce regular key management information i.e., monitoring the use of the absence portal, information on absence trigger points, on long-term/short term sickness, probationary reviews, performance reviews, to identify trends and support line managers
- Compliance: ensuring compliance with HR policies, which includes Right to Work, security, DBS /PVG, or government/ Police security clearance and requirements of the Official Secrets Act
- Projects: advise and support managers with employee engagement interventions to promote positive staff engagement on contracts including IIP, RESPECT awards, staff surveys, and/or as directed by the SHRM
What we would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- HR experience gained in an advisory role, with hands on, practical experience on managing end to end ER processes, with the ability to apply employment law
- Strong organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail
- Proactive administration and flexible approach to working within a busy team
- Experience in recruitment and selection processes
- Ability to build credible relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- CIPD qualified (or equivalent)
What would be a bonus, but not essential
- Understanding of the Facilities Management sector
- Experience in developing policy / procedure development
- Experience in the use of an integrated management information system (e. g. Resource Link, Peoplesoft etc)
