We have a fantastic opportunity for an HR Adviser to join our HR team supporting operational facilities management contracts. The role can be based either in our H/O in London Waterloo or at one of the operational sites in North or West London, Surrey or Middlesex. The main purpose of the role is to assist the HR Manager in the provision of an effective and efficient operational HR service to designated contracts.

Some of the duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Suggest appropriate solutions and provide coaching and training to managers for the successful conclusion of employee relations issues, while raising more complex issues with the HRM or Senior HRM
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures by operational managers, advising the HR Manager of any serious non-conformities
  • Draft non-standard letters for HR matters (discipline, grievance, AIP, PIP meetings and outcomes)
  • Assist with the maintenance of human resources systems liaising with HR Shared Services IS and Payroll
  • Support the HR Manager(s) with the recruitment, selection and induction of staff, in accordance with procedures (i.e. drafting of adverts, applicant tracking, attending interviews, carrying out inductions.)
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers on performance management of staff including learning and development available and good use of appraisal and development plans
  • Advise and support managers with employee engagement interventions to promote positive employee relations and staff engagement on contracts including IIP, RESPECT awards, staff surveys
  • Ensure compliance with and endorsement of contract requirements for Right to Work, security, DBS or PVG, or government/ Police security clearance and requirements of the Official Secrets Act

The candidate will have the following skills, experience, and qualification:

Essential

  • Previous experience in human resources management
  • Experience in supporting the management of Employee Relations and Change Management
  • Good working knowledge of developments in HR and employment law
  • CIPD qualified (or equivalent)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to advise managers on policies and procedures

Desirable

  • Understanding of FM in a Health setting
  • Working knowledge of and other employee benefits
  • Experience in policy / procedure development
  • Experience in the use of an integrated management information system (e. g. ResourceLink, Peoplesoft etc)
  • Previous exposure to TUPE transfers
