Health & Safety Manager
Axione - Southwark
We are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Manager to support our growning business. This is a national role with the possibility of working in a hybrid manner and as such it could be based in:
- Glasgow
- Edinburgh
- Manchester
- Birmingham
- London
The Heath & Safety Manager will support our current and future opperations, we are currently have activity in Scotland and expect to start work in another region soon. With the Program Director the Health & Safety Manager will set and drive the Axione UK Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations and Health and Safety strategy.
Accountabilites will include:
- Ensure that Axione UK meet their requirements under CDM regulations in order to protect the health of everyone on their site.
- Manage the Health and Safety Advisor within the region and ensure Health and Safety is a key priority.
- Develop and ensure the effective implementation of business H&S improvement stages.
- Develop the management system to a standard that meets legal compliance and, ISO14001: 2004 and ISO 45001, including processes that create ongoing continuous improvement.
- Liaise with external third party management system certification bodies, ensuring an ongoing good relationship and the best cost effective solutions re: certifications.
- Establish and maintain arrangements for the business to be kept up to date with changes in legislation and best practise.
- H&S reporting.
- Liaise with relevant enforcement authorities regarding any legal matters related to compliance.
- Ensure audits are carried out within the business to ensure standards are compliant and reports to Excom are produced.
- Ensure H&S performance data is recorded measured and evaluated with reports issued to the business.
- Ensure accidents/incidents/defects are investigated and bulletins issued to ensure lessons are learned.
- Ensure the annual management review is carried out.
- Complete annual awards submissions as required by the business to ensure our market profile is highly visible.
- Ensure the effective internal communications of health, safety, environmental performance and lessons to be learnt to promote a high level of awareness and constant learning.
- Liaise with the Human Resources Department to ensure standards of competence for staff are identified and training programmes put in place to achieve the required standards.
- Liaise with the Procurement Department and supply chain to ensure arrangements are in place to ensure suppliers are deemed competent for use.
- Liaise with the Legal Department in regard to the management of SHE related claims being made against the business.

- Previous Health & Safety experience
- Exeperience with in the telcom industry
- Results driven with excellent communication skills

- IOSH
- NEBOSH
