As part of the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), we are committed to ensuring the success of Sizewell C-a transformative project that promises to revolutionize energy supply in the UK, offering low-carbon electricity to 6 million homes for decades to come. We are actively seeking an experienced HSW Fire & Emergency Preparedness Specialist to join our dedicated team on-site at Sizewell C in Suffolk.
In this crucial role, you will lead the charge in delivering comprehensive Integrated Emergency Management (IEM) systems. Your mission will be to anticipate, assess, prevent, and prepare for potential risks, ensuring that response and recovery efforts are swift and effective. You will work closely with HSW Managers and Operational teams, aligning fire and emergency preparedness measures with legal standards and project needs.
As a specialist, you'll be instrumental in developing and evaluating emergency exercises, facilitating seamless coordination between site emergency services, and implementing the five joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles (JESIP). Your leadership will foster a culture of safety, preparation, and proactive risk management across the CWA.
We're looking for candidates with hands-on experience in dynamic operational response environments, who possess a strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation pertinent to construction and nuclear site licensing. You should be adept at providing emergency management advice and skilled in motivating teams to deliver excellence in fire and emergency preparedness.
The ideal candidate holds a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) qualification and has a background in using proprietary rescue equipment. Competence in fire and emergency preparedness is essential, with NEBOSH certification being highly desirable.
