Bouygues Travaux Publics (TP) have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Finance Assistant to join us working from our head office close to Waterloo station.  

Job Purpose and Scope:

As a Graduate Finance Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work across the business supporting our projects in a team with multiple responsibilities and a focus on collaboration. The following are examples of areas of finance you will get involved in:

  • Invoices Discrepancy management.
  • Setting-up of Purchase orders.
  • Improvement of the commitment process.
  • Help to produce documents to support the CFO for project audit (link to NEC contract).
  • Monthly reinvoicing process to Joint Ventures (BYLOR for HPC & ALIGN JV for HS2), BYUK files to check in terms of cost allocation and invoices to raise.
  • Check / rectify the costs allocation.
  • Setting-up of cost control for project internal accounts for HS2 and HPC
  • Follow-up of indirect expenses, monthly reporting to follow (IT expenses, Phone costs, Pension costs, fleet costs…), commercial expenses to follow.
  • Setting-up of a profit & loss reporting per employee to check that all the chargeable expenses per employee have been charged to the JV on a monthly basis.
  • Monthly reconciliation income / expenses
  • Databases to update especially for employees (staff)
  • Organise the timesheets collection each month regarding the Sizewell C ECI contract.
  • Help to produce / update the yearly forecasts (A1, A2, PL)
  • Procedure / documentation to write and develop regarding the back-charging process branch => JV
  •  Procedure to write regarding the cost control follow-up of a NEC (cost + fee) contract.

Our graduate programme will start in September 2023 but there is the potential to start earlier if you have already completed your degree.

Essential & Desirable criteria:

  • A 2:1 in finance or a related subject
  • A genuine interest in the construction industry

Graduate programme

You will be enrolled onto our graduate programme which is a two year structured training scheme. The programme is designed to enhance and develop soft skills and technical capability through a blend of classroom based learning and on the job training.  Our programme offers a balance of training and on the job learning to support your transition to becoming an accomplished professional. Graduates will take responsibility and accountability for their careers, while we offer guidance and support to help you reach your goals. We will support your route to chartership and give you the opportunity to develop different skill sets outside of your specialism.  The duration of the graduate programme will be spent of the BYLOR project with the potential to see different aspects of the project in this time.
