Graduate Engineer - Electrical / Electronic Engineering

BYES E&S UK Branch has been awarded a Turn-key EPC contract for the Hinkley Point C new build nuclear power plant Emergency Diesel Generators (EDG). This graduate placement within the technical team responsible for the design / manufacturing / qualification of the EDG system (Genset, I&C system and the auxiliaries) is assigned the following responsibilities:

• Participate in establishing and implementing the I&C architecture and design.
• Follow up activities performed by I&C sub-contractors through design, procurement and manufacturing.

The opportunity will initially be based in Bristol and last between September 2021 and August 2022, the second part of the scheme will be based in another role with in Bouygues Construction UK.

Key elements of the role will involve:

1 – I&C definition and documentation

2 – Support development and adherence to design and quality control processes

3 – Support manufacturing follow up and surveillance

General knowledge:

• Industrial projects in the Energy sector
• Communication/organisation/Quality processes
• Notions of sub-contractor surveillance
• Ability to complete tasks independently

Role specific knowledge:

• Instrumentation and Control design for industrial projects
• Electrical Systems knowledge
• Electrical Layout knowledge
• Nuclear Safety (desirable)
• Nuclear context (desirable)

• 2:1 in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
• A genuine interest in the construction industry
