Graduate Design Engineer
Axione - Glasgow
Axione are looking for a Graduate Design Engineer, The Graduate Design Engineer will be in charge of infrastructure plans, controlling technical constraints and construction costs.
This role will contribute to the good communication between the Design team in France, the project staff and contractors for design matters.
This role will involve a 6 to 9 month placement in France (headquarter of Axione) with the Design team.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the review of and if required undertake a review of the Design, procurement and construction information to ensure it complies with Project documentation
- Assist in the review of and if required undertake a review of design output and verifies its compliance with Client’s output specifications Axione’s Contract Proposals submission
- Train subcontractors to the initial, intrusive survey (chambers and overhead)
- Coordinate the work and assignments of the Fibre Planners from the Project Management Offices in accordance with the guidelines of the Axione France Design Office
- Ensure design risk assessment are undertaken and residual risk is identified on drawing , O & M operation are considered and risk assessed in the design
- Report these information to the Design team in France
- Contribute to the definition of designer’s objectives: time, details, ratios, coordination's, etc.
- Support the procurement and commercial teams
- Attends contract review meetings
- Ensure the Company Health and Safety safe working practices are observed at all times
Essential
- Geographic information system (GIS) knowledge
- Some knowledge of the design process, at commercial and construction design stages
- A 2.i or above degree in relevant engineering discipline (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services)
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and produce accurate work
- Proactive and confident communicator & shares knowledge
- Ability to travel for work (Scotland and England)
- Conversational French
