Bouygues Travaux Publics have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Civil Engineer to work for us at the Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Station. 

Bouygues Travaux Publics (TP) and Laing O'Rourke, two of Europe's most dynamic engineering and construction specialists, are working together in a joint venture named BYLOR to deliver the main civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C (HPC) worth over £2.8 billion.

BYLOR are pushing the boundaries of innovation and modern technology while delivering high quality construction on a massive scale. BYLOR have already broken the UK record for the largest continuous concrete pour of 9,000m3 of concrete.

Job Purpose and Scope:

Supporting our prestigious Hinkley Point project the Graduate Civil Engineer will learn and develop the skills necessary to support the project in the co-ordination and control of the onsite construction process. Working with a Site Manager or Project Manager the Graduate Civil Engineer will be given responsibility for a project section or work package to ensure that the site build progresses in line with the plan.

Our graduate programme will start in September 2022 but there is the potential to start earlier if you have already completed your degree.

Essential & Desirable criteria:

  • A 2:1 in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • A genuine interest in the construction industry

Graduate programme

You will be enrolled onto our graduate programme which is a two year structured training scheme. The programme is designed to enhance and develop soft skills and technical capability through a blend of classroom based learning and on the job training.  Our programme offers a balance of training and on the job learning to support your transition to becoming an accomplished professional. Graduates will take responsibility and accountability for their careers, while we offer guidance and support to help you reach your goals. We will support your route to chartership and give you the opportunity to develop different skill sets outside of your specialism.
