Bouygues Energies & Services have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Finance & Administration Manager to be based from our Bristol office in Bradley Stoke.  

We have been awarded a Turn-key EPC contract for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) new build nuclear power plant Emergency Diesel Generators. This is a great opportunity for a Finance Manager looking to work on this busy and challenging project.  

Job Purpose & Scope:

Responsible for administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the HPC Project, including development of financial and operational strategy, KPI, development and monitoring of control systems implemented to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. Responsible for the Bouygues Energies & Services SAS branch in the UK. 

The Role:

  • Drive the finance planning of the Project by analysing its performance, risks and opportunities.
  • Support the Project Director on financial matters. Retain constant awareness of the project’s financial position and act proactively to anticipate and mitigate issues related to financial matters.
  • Set targets and supervise cost control personnel. Liaise and ensure good communication with group support services (HR, Payroll, Purchasing, Accounting, IT, Insurance, Tax …).
  • Oversee all audit and internal control operations for administrative and finance matters.
  • Produce detailed reports on financial performance on monthly, quarterly and annual basis based on Division/Group management cycle procedures.
  • Produce ad hoc analysis and reports.
  • Ensure that the Project complies with accounting and tax legislation and regulatory requirements. Monitor all open legal issues involving the Project.
  • Understand and mitigate key elements of the Project's risk profile, maintain risk and opportunities awareness within the Project leadership team and maintain appropriate insurance coverage.
  • Construct and monitor reliable control systems based on internal group policy, risk management and internal control principles.
  • Conduct the Project cash management.
  • Owner of Client reporting procedure for the activity, progress measurement, invoicing and finance related matters.
  • Ethic officer for the Project: ensure strict compliance of the Project to the Ethics policy of the Group.
  • Subcontractor management: measurement of monthly progress based on subcontractors’ contracts, monitoring of subcontract obligations (bonds, insurances, payment terms).
  • Undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required within Energies & Industry division / BYES.

The person will ideally have:

  • Advanced accounting skills - Broad understanding of accounting principles and ability to keep up to date with new accounting rules and regulations.
  • Audit skills - ability to investigate analyse, summarise, report and build mitigation action plans. 
  • IT literate. 
  • Internal control knowledge – secure the administrative and cash management process.
  • Risk management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
