Bouygues Energies & Services currently has an exciting opportunity for a Carpenter (Fabric Operative) to join our Facilities Management team working on our local government contract covering 130+ sites across Westminster City Council.  This is a mobile permanent full-time position working Monday-Friday from 08.00 to 17.00.

 

The role:

  • To undertake mobile Fabric works including maintenance, repair and minor improvement works across the borough
  • Carry out all Fabric duties such as Carpentry (including door repair, locks, hanging etc), fire door CP duties, painting & decorating, replacing ceiling tiles and laying carpet tiles.
  • To undertake PPM and reactive works to ensure that all jobs are completed in line with Service Level Agreements, Key Performance Indicators and Critical Performance Indicators.
  • To work with Contractors when required to ensure conformity of all works undertaken on site is in line with BYES H&S processes and standards.
  • Update and maintain records; stock control, engineer’s reports, maintenance contacts, etc.
  • To assist with creating and maintaining all logbooks to ensure statutory compliance as required.
  • Working 40 hours per week between 08:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday; this role will also require participation in the on-call rota system

 

The person:

  • Must have a City & Guilds or NVQ Level II qualification in carpentry (or equivalent) or a recognised apprenticeship; a painting & decorating qualification is desirable
  • Experience and knowledge of working using Asbestos registers and associated environments is desirable
  • Willingness to learn new skills and have a proactive and flexible attitude to duties
  • Able to demonstrate strong communication and client relationship skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with high standards of workmanship and record keeping
  • Committed to health and safety
  • Excellent IT skills with experience in the use of CAFM systems, Word & Excel.
  • Desirable to hold full clean UK Driving Licence
