Are you a dedicated professional with a passion for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) excellence? The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) is seeking an ESG Lead to drive our sustainability initiatives and ensure compliance across the Sizewell C project.

About the Project
Sizewell C is an ambitious 3.2-gigawatt power station project, set to generate low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, playing a key role in the UK’s energy future. As part of the CWA, you will be instrumental in supporting the construction of this state-of-the-art facility that promises clean electricity for at least 60 years.

Your Role:

  • As the ESG Lead, you will report to the ESG & Strategy Director and be responsible for the entire ESG function within the CWA. Your main responsibilities include:
  • Leading and managing the environment & sustainability, environmental compliance, social value, and technical specialist teams.
  • Providing strong ESG leadership, co-ordination, support, and advice.
  • Ensuring compliance with all legal, company standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders, including the client team, CWA leadership teams, and alliance partners.
  • Reporting to the Delivery Leadership Team and wider CWP on ESG matters.
  • Driving continuous improvement and ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Oversight of the ESG strategy and policies for the CWA.
  • Advise and guide various levels within Sizewell C on ESG issues.
  • Manage and support the development of the CWA ESG team.
  • Ensure the delivery of ESG commitments and report on KPIs.
  • Produce ESG reports and utilise audit findings to inform key business decisions.
  • Promote and implement ESG initiatives and innovations across the project.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the Civils/Utilities industry in an environmental and/or sustainability role.
  • Experience in leading a team and influencing ESG practices within projects.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and cost estimation/commercial awareness.
