Bouygues Energies & Services Solutions - Westminster - WCC
Bouygues Energies & Services currently has an exciting opportunity for an Electrician to join our Facilities Management team working on our local government contract covering various corporate & public sites across Westminster City Council. This opportunity is for a permanent full-time position, working Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00 servicing a cluster of buildings in relatively close proximity and is foot mobile.

The team consists of circa 15 members delivering both planned and reactive maintenance utilising sustainable transport. This comprises of Electric Vehicles, Battery Powered Cargo Bikes, as well as utilisation of public transport. The role offers a varied working environment given that our technical team covers the whole of Westminster which is split into clusters to make it more manageable for our Engineers.

The role:
- Reporting to the Supervisor
- Carry out prompt and efficient maintenance and repairs (planned and reactive) of building services assets, plant and equipment across the contract, along with installation and refurbishment work
- Respond to requests generated by the Helpdesk, and use Maximo and hand-held mobile devices for management of work on daily basis and complete assignments within deadlines to avoid penalties. Ensure Site logbooks are completed and populated with statutory and paperwork
- Carry out new electrical works as required i.e. renew works, refurbishment and work associated with the life cycle maintenance programme
- Attend training programmes to meet contract requirements and for self-development
- To immediately report any emergency works to the Supervisor
- Working 40 hours per week between 08:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday, this role will also require participation in the on call rota system
The person:
- Must hold a recognised electrical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 2 (theory and practice) in a relevant Electrical discipline with suitable industry experience.
- Must be able to work independently when necessary as well as being part of a supportive team sharing knowledge, best practice and experience.
- Willingness to learn new skills and have a flexible approach to dealing with planned and reactive maintenance tasks. Other duties of the role can include Emergency Light and Fire Alarm Testing; L8 Legionella is desirable
- Able to demonstrate strong communication and client relationship skills
- Excellent attention to detail. Adaptable to changing environments – Plant rooms to High Profile Areas.
- Will be willing to work and develop Apprentices as required
- Will take on AP / RP Roles as required where additional payment will be provided
- Must be able to work independently when necessary as well as part of a team
- Good PC skills
