Bouygues Energies & Services currently has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to work within our maintenance team on our Sussex Custodial Services maintenance contract in Brighton and at three other Custodial centres across East & West Sussex. This is a permanent role working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.

 

Key Activities:

  • Apply relevant trade skills to any allocated jobs as directed by management.
  • Work alone with minimum supervision or within a team to carry out maintenance/repair of electrical services plant and equipment across the site
  • Integrate and communicate effectively with other trade staff and contractors
  • Responsible for the safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of electrical systems, associated plant/equipment installed throughout the site
  • Carry out new electrical works as required i.e. new works, refurbishment and work associated with the life cycle maintenance programme
  • Comply with statutory testing and inspection legislation (BS 7671)
  • Working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday with a requirement to participate in a rotational rostered 24 hour on-call system providing emergency service during non-working hours, at weekends and bank holidays

 

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must hold a recognised electrical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant electrical discipline with suitable industry experience.
  • Full and valid Driving Licence
  • Will have experience in a similar role in building services/FM 
  • Willingness to attain cross skilling and to undertake training and qualify as an Authorised Person as required
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Demonstrate good planning, organising and prioritising skills
  • Ability to show examples of using initiative and judgement to resolve problems
  • Must have a good understanding of health and safety best practice; formal training an advantage
  • Successful applicants will be subject to Metropolitan Police security vetting
