Bouygues E&S are seeking to appoint an EC&I Engineer to support our Energy from Waste facility in Belfast.

Role Purpose:
To support the Engineering Manager in the management, supervision, planning and co-ordination of the EC&I maintenance team in order to deliver maximum plant reliability, flexibility, availability and overall plant performance in line with high standards of Safety, Quality and Environmental performance.
This plant utilises Gasification Technology, combined with a Steam Turbine, to generate ~10MW which is enough to power around 14,500 homes. As an Energy from Waste plant using Refuse Derived Fuel, the plant will also be reducing approximately 180,000 Tonnes of waste from heading to a landfill on an annual basis.

Duties:
- Performance of designated Safe System of Work responsibilities as defined by the Bouygues EfW Safety Rules.
- Active participation in site Safety forums, including procedure and Safety System reviews on a periodic basis.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of the site Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Day to day management, supervision, planning, and co-ordination of departmental activities to deliver maximum plant availability, flexibility and overall performance.
- Assisting in the development and delivery of maintenance techniques and procedures directed at increasing overall plant availability and performance.
- Performance of troubleshooting, routine, scheduled and major repair maintenance on all site electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, IT and DCS systems.
- Testing and calibration of E/C&I systems and field equipment in accordance with OEM supplier requirements and Industry Practice Best Practice.
- Quality control of all work associated with Departmental activities on site, including supervision and control of sub contractor works as required.
- Provision of close technical support to Operations and other site teams.
- Develop and maintain effective interfaces between the maintenance department and all other site functional teams.
- Manage the implementation of modifications and site improvement projects.
- Supporting outage planning, co-ordination and management.

Desirable & Essential Criteria:

Essential:
- HNC/HND in an Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering discipline. (Qualifications below this level may be acceptable if accompanied by suitable experience)
- Detailed knowledge of, and experience in, the principles and maintenance of plant related E/C&I equipment.
- Full understanding of P&IDs, loop checking and electrical drawings.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of analogue and digital instrumentation calibration regimes.
- A flexible approach to out of hours call out, and changes to working patterns where necessary to the needs of the business.
- Willingness to work towards multi-skilling.
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical distribution systems, their protection and switching.
- Experience of working in a technically challenging and value driven culture.
- Flexible and performance driven, with the commitment, determination and resilience to deliver added value to operational performance.
- The ability to communicate and influence effectively, and work collaboratively, at all levels.

Desirable:
- NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.
- Comprehensive knowledge of preventative maintenance and defect repair/interrogation on: DCS/SCADA, PLCs, analogue and digital instrumentation and transducers, Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems.
- Knowledge and experience of Electricity Supply Industry standard Safe Systems of work, Safety Rules and Permit for Work Systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation relevant to steam powered electricity generation.
- Experience in the operation and/or maintenance of steam powered electricity generation equipment.
- Knowledge and understanding of HV distribution systems, their protection, and switching up to 33KV.
