We're Hiring: Design Manager for the Sizewell C Project!
Are you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy in the UK? Join the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) as a Design Manager and help us make a significant impact by contributing to the construction of Sizewell C—a 3.2-gigawatt power station that will generate low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, ensuring a cleaner, more sustainable future.
About the Role:
As the Design Manager for the Sizewell C (SZC) project, you will be at the forefront of our Enabling Works division, coordinating and managing the review and acceptance of engineering design deliverables. Your mission is to ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements, focusing on construction feasibility and risk transfer between the Designer and Contractor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementation & Assurance: Lead the project team in implementing and upholding design management procedures.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various stakeholders including the Client’s Designer, internal and external designers, and sub-contractors.
- Interface Management: Coordinate temporary and permanent work designs and manage sub-contractor design packages.
- Risk Management: Lead design gate reviews, document and manage design and construction risks, and ensure Zero Harm focus.
- Digital Coordination: Support the evolution of digital processes to enhance project delivery.
About You:
- Qualifications: Engineering-based degree, professionally qualified or working towards it.
- Experience: In depth relevant experience in major project construction, focusing on design production and coordination for civil, structural, and tunnelling works.
- Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. Proficiency in IT and the use of 3D and 4D modelling software.
- Competencies: Demonstrates humility, positivity, respect, solidarity, and clarity in all interactions.
