Contracts Manager
Bouygues Energies & Services Solutions - Welwyn Garden City
Our Highways and Local Government business unit has a new opening for a Contracts Manager with experience of PFI contracts and ideally LED street lighting. While the position is based from our head office in Welwyn, the contract itself is in the Lambeth.
The role:
- Manage the team effectively to ensure the consistent project delivery including robust, high quality services through management of the operational teams
- To facilitate the delivery of key performance indicators and performance monitoring data prescribed on a contractual basis, ensuring that operational monitoring mechanisms are accurate
- Regularly liaise with the clients to ensure that good working relationships are achieved, issues are resolved in a timely manner and problems are effectively escalated and managed to successful conclusions for all parties
- Ensure all contractual time frames are adhered to paying close attention to all performance standards
- Be responsible for contractual performance in line with approved budgets, key performance indicators, performance monitoring systems, output specifications and contractual requirements
- Deliver the planned contract margins, continually enforce cost efficiency initiatives, seek maximisation of BYES financial entitlements, minimise overdue debt, negotiate settlement of contractual claims, and pursue contractual variations
- Effectively manage supply chain on the contract. Ensure supply chain audits are conducted and appropriate action plans put in place for improvements.
- Provide ad hoc support to the Contract Director/General Manager in benchmarking cost performance data, technical expertise and good references
- Build and maintain partnership relationships with the client representatives and managers on each contract.
- Responsible for ensuring that all members of staff, directly or indirectly employed, carryout their duties in a safe manner following all Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental policy and procedures
The person:
- Must have previous experience within a similar sector, Highways or Electrical, with SMSTS and NRSWA. HNC/D or Degree is desirable
- Understanding of PFI contracts
- Previous experience of managing and leading teams, with ability to motivate staff essential
- Able to work closely with colleagues across the business, embracing change and new ways of working
- Excellent listening and communication skills, and confident dealing with internal customers and Clients
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft packages and databases
