Bouygues Energies & Services has a great opportunity for an experienced infrastructure Commercial Manager with a background working on PFI contracts. The role will involve managing the commercial team to deliver the commercial performance of Bouygues Local Authority contracts that the team are, commercially responsible for.

 

The role:

  • To manage a team of Quantity Surveyors in delivering commercial support to projects within the transport and local government sector
  • Will be responsible for the management and performance monitoring of PFI contracts, building and maintaining positive relationships among all stakeholders
  • Act as an expert advisor on PFI contracts in the business Unit and ensuring that Bouygues Energies & Services fulfils its responsibilities under the agreements
  • To assist and own the production of monthly performance reports and follow up on any issues or failures
  • To manage risks and secure efficiencies across the contracts. Compliance or performance issues are recognized in a timely manner and resolved or escalated
  • Will be responsible for delegating/allocating tasks to Quantity Surveyors, setting objectives and monitoring their progress
  • To be aware of and understand what documents comprise the contract, and be fully briefed on the contract estimate/bid, including settlement adjustments
  • Ensure the Project Quantity Surveyors produce all necessary documentation in relation to the resolution of problems such as commercial, contractual or construction related issues

 

The person:

  • Previous experience in commercial management role in a similar sector is required
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of sector’s commercial drivers and developments
  • Excellent written, numerical, oral communication and negotiating skills are essential
  • Proficient in the understanding of contractual obligations, under all standard forms of contract – such as PFI/PPP, NEC TSC and the JCT suit of contracts
  • Must be able to identify risks in projects, also implement and oversee risk management procedures and contingencies
  • Knowledge of highways and civil engineering, measurement practice, construction law and practice is highly desirable
