Are you ready to lead the commercial strategy for one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects? Join the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) as a Commercial Manager for the Sizewell C (SZC) project! Be a part of a team that will generate low-carbon electricity for 6 million homes, ensuring reliable, clean energy for at least 60 years.
Location: London with travel to Sizewell
As a Commercial Manager, you will implement the civils alliance delivery strategy, challenge all aspects of the cost base, and ensure both internal and external customer satisfaction while maintaining the highest professional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive a relentless focus on Zero Harm and support CSUK’s sustainability activities.
- Provide commercial advice to the Project Director, highlighting implications of health, safety, and environmental issues.
- Manage the commercial team, ensuring sufficient resources and individual development opportunities.
- Oversee the preparation and review of tenders, Target Cost, and Earned Value Management.
- Ensure program issues are identified and actioned, managing monthly operating statements and associated commercial reports.
- Establish client supply chain requirements and advise on procurement arrangements.
- Undertake dispute resolution and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
- Formulate management plans for resource procurement and liaise with all parties to ensure tasks/projects remain on plan.
What We’re Looking For:
- Expertise in commercial management, negotiation, legal contracting, and risk & opportunity management.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering technical solutions, project procurement strategy, and digital engineering.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Proven track record of managing and leading large teams, with experience in performance management and team development.
- Proficiency in preparing estimates and tender submissions and managing feedback of commercial data.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Construction Commercial Management/Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in mobilising new contracts and implementing commercial systems.
- In-depth knowledge of construction and contract law, including health and safety regulations.
- Proven experience in managing change and driving business improvement.
- Professional accreditation and experience in mentoring and developing team members.
