Axione (part of the Bouygues Group) is currently looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join our company and lead our commercial team, based in Central London (Waterloo), overseeing the multiple telecomms (fibre network installation) projects across the UK

About the job

Working as part of a dedicated team, this role involves commercial management over multiple FFTH/FTTP infrastructure projects to optimise projects` net profitability and cash performance.

The Commercial Manager leads, manages the Procurement of Subcontractors and the Contractual & Financial management of Subcontractors. Also advise on matters relating to Client Contract.

Responsibilities

  • Lead management of designated contracts working closely with the internal teams throughout the execution phase as well as the account teams to support customer engagement and resolution of disputes/escalations
  • Manage execution and compliance with all contractual requirements
  • Responsible for all contract, document control, contract correspondence, to include instruction, records, and the maintenance of these on the company`s chose method of document storage
  • Ensure that project teams vigorously review risks and opportunities at Internal Review Meetings and that team members are informed of their actions/ responsibilities on a monthly basis.
  • Management of the planner to ensure the overarching programme is maintained and reported against on a weekly basis , and also contractors programmes are monitored and reported against on a weekly basis
  • Take an active role and lead in the negotiation and/ or management of contractual and/ or high risk issues
  • Ensure that the schedules are reviewed and updated on a regular basis together with the current status of actions
  • Take an active role in the preparation of the Contractors Progress report and responding to meeting minutes.
  • Work with other Quantity Surveyors to share your knowledge and expertise, acting as a mentor to less experienced team members
  • Work on claims and entitlements as required
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure the Company Health and Safety working practices are observed at all times
  • Comply with Company Policies and Procedures
  • Follow the Company`s Equalities Policies in relation to other staff, customers and members of the Group, at a level appropriate to the post

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed above, the job holder may be required to perform other duties assigned by their line manager from time to time, outside the normal sphere of work as may reasonably be requested.

The job holder will be required to undertake such flexible and additional working hours as may be necessary, within reason, to facilitate the efficient fulfilment of the duties required by position.

Essential

  • Experience and understanding of legal framework and regulatory compliance in the telecoms industry strongly preferred
  • Strong Commercial awareness and focus on results
  • In depth Technical, Legal and Commercial knowledge
  • Experience of managing and avoiding disputes
  • Experience of Responding to adjudications and preparing Referrals
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and produce accurate work
  • Proactive and confident communicator & shares knowledge
  • Travelling for work (Scotland and England)


Desirable

  • FTTP infrastructure experience
