| VSL UK are looking to appoint a Civil Works Engineer to support our HS2 project in Buckinghamshire. Accountabilities and key tasks: -Ensure high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality within the site operations. Delivery of a high value safe project for the client. -Actively lead by example ensuring that all working relationships are consistent and to the highest standards. -Ensure that the company gets the best out of its sub-contractors and suppliers, through proper selection and management in conjunction with the project team. -Identifying suppliers and subcontractors for the site needs -Evaluation of suppliers and subcontractors -Selection of suppliers and subcontractors and issue recommendations to the PM`s -Negotiation with suppliers and subcontractors -Preparations of PO`s and subcontracts -Follow up of suppliers delivery schedule and logistics in coordination with the site requirements -Preparation, and follow up till approval when required, of prestart documentation, such as RAM`s, site record templates, ITP`s, .... Essential and Desirable Criteria: Essential -Degree or equivalent in an Engineering or Construction discipline -Experience working with a main contractor or large subcontractor and dealing with small/medium subcontractors in the UK market -Previous experience of ground engineering -Knowledge of UK building regulations -Good financial control skills -Understanding of UK H&S construction laws -Ability to handle multiple tasks at once -Demonstrates strong attention to detail and produces accurate work. -Has technical knowledge on planning tools such as Project. -Has technical knowledge on computed assistant drawing such as ACAD -Good communication skills to enable good communication within the team, clients, suppliers and subcontractors. Desirable -MCIOB or similar chartership -Pablo / HA+ and SAP - Purchaser role on the flowchart + following and renewing existent catalogues + placing and follow up orders. |
