Catering Supervisor

Bouygues Energies and Services currently has an exciting opportunity for a Catering Supervisor to supervise our catering team at King’s College London in Waterloo.
This is a full-time permanent position working 40 hours p/week, 8 hours per day (rostered for 9 hours) typically between 0700 and 1900, 5 days from 7. Please note there will be some earlier start and finish times, dependent on business needs.
Note there is a requirement in the contract to work some weekends as and when required, in particular for the three summer months of June, July and August due to weekend hospitality events/summer schools taking place.
The role:
- Reporting to the Service Manager (Soft FM)
- To supervise and ensure the smooth running of the day to day services provided in the retail outlets and hospitality division and provide cover to the Deputy Catering Manager as required
- To manage the shift schedules across all areas
- To oversee and ensure all counter areas are correctly merchandised and displayed as per specification
- To carry out stock takes, ordering of stock, wastage sheets, cashing up, banking and monitoring of the HACCP files
- Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, 5 days from 7 as rostered between 06:00 and 23:00 with a requirement to work additional hours when needed for functions.
The person:
- Essential to have a background in the hospitality and catering industry and previous supervisory experience
- Basic food safety knowledge is essential; IOSH qualification is desirable
- A qualification or certification within the catering industry, such as NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent is a strong advantage
- Excellent customer care and communication skills are essential with sound numeracy and literacy skills and the ability to use a PC
- Barista experience (coffee art) is desirable
- Will be flexible with a can do attitude
