Bouygues Energies and Services currently has an exciting opportunity for a Catering Assistant to work within our catering team at King’s College London in Waterloo.

This is a maternity cover position working 40 hours p/week, 8 hours per day (rostered for 9 hours with a 1 hour unpaid break) to be completed typically between 07:00 and 19:00 (please note there will be some earlier start and finish times, business dependent), 5 days from 7; this is a 9 month fixed-term contract.

Please note there will be a requirement in the contract to work weekends as and when required, in particular for the three summer months of June, July and August due to weekend hospitality events/summer schools.

 

The role:

  • Reporting to the Catering Supervisor
  • To work in all areas of catering, including the retail outlets and hospitality, providing a high level of customer service
  • To carry out food preparation ensuring food safety at all times
  • To maintain a “clean as you go” policy and clean all equipment, crockery and cutlery
  • To operate the tills in accordance with the company policy and to complete all paperwork such as temperature monitoring
  • Working 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day between 06:00 and 23:00, 5 days from 7; this is a maternity cover fixed-term contract

 

The person:

  • Previous experience within food preparation is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A working knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Basic Food Hygiene awareness
  • A knowledge of HACCP
