Bouygues Energies & Services Solutions is currently looking for an experienced mechanical bias BIM Technician to join our Projects team based in London, Waterloo. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months, with a possibility to become permanent.

The Projects team provides construction and building projects across various sites and sectors

As a BIM Technician, your day to day duties will involve:

  • To produce, update and audit M&E and Building fabric 3D geometrical models and associated data to support technical and financial management across our operations
  • To prepare and present design proposals using computer-aided design (CAD) and traditional methods
  • Implement the project BIM Execution Plan (when available)
  • To author & co-ordinate detailed design information
  • To provide support during the design, building and installation process, advising where MEP installations and capable of achieving design specifications
  • Creation of Architectural, Structural and MEP geometry and metadata files (When necessary using reverse engineering model data from 2D CAD, O&M data and H&S File information)
  • To manage, assess, review and/or report on status of models in production, modelling activities by supply-chain members
  • To support the use of BIM uses and tool through the company through innovative solutions and the provision of training

The ideal candidate for the BIM Technician role will have the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Practical experience and knowledge of building systems, processes and procedures
  • Formal education in mechanical design (minimum HND level)
  • Awareness of BIM Level 2, 3D Modelling/IFC (Revit), COBie File Data Validation, CDE, Government Soft Landings, IOT and sensor technologies
  • Experience of directly producing MEP system models using BIM standards and processes
  • Relevant Autodesk Revit modelling qualification or extensive experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to work under own initiative with excellent time-management skills. The post holder will also be required to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
