Assistant Planner
Bouygues Energies & Services Contracting - West Drayton
Bouygues Energies & Services Contracting are seeking to appoint an Assistant Planner to join our Data Centre project team based in Stockley Park, West Drayton.
The Assistant Planner will be involved from tender to project completion and will ensure all activities are captured, whilst playing a key role within the project team.
The Role
- Working with a Senior Planner, provide planning services ensuring the teams are delivering on project time objectives.
- Have an understanding for each project the level of planning service and anticipated time allocation to provide that service.
- Be involved in identifying, communicating and managing project risks. Collaborating with the team to solve any issues or problems.
- Build strong internal and external relationship with the Planning department and broader project teams/Client team.
- Communicating with other disciplines within production teams to ensure they are aware of their roles in meeting the programme.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and planning standards.
- Provide detailed an accurate regular progress reporting to the project team and client as required.
- Support the team to summarise projects status upstream to senior management, highlighting any unresolved major risks and potential overruns.
- Manage time and workload to ensure deadlines are met. Highlight any potential work overload/slackening to Line Manager as soon as it is apparent.
- Ensure compliance with all current Bouygues Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements.
Essential Criteria
- Some Planning software expertise, preferably in P6 or Asta Powerproject.
- Demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of development; design, procurement, construction (structure, architecture, services), commissioning.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to quickly and clearly articulate key issues. Listen and capture concerns of others.
- To have a keen eye for detail, to be able to produce accurate reports and programmes as requested in a timely manner.
- Work in a safe manner at all time and plan safety into work activities.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of construction projects across a broad range of sectors, mixed use developments, Pharmaceutical, Data Centres, (bias towards Building Services).
- Ability to manage his/her own time and workload, managing the expectations of others.
- Experience/expertise in Microsoft packages especially Excel and Powerpoint.
